Hello!

I am from Oklahoma (USA) but I have traveled and lived in Seattle and Portland and China most recently.

My academic and professional experience has been a variety of things. I received a Studio Arts Degree in Painting from the University of Oklahoma, where I studied experimental film and video, in addition to oil painting. The Fred Jones Art Museum bought one of my works and I was the Assistant Editor for the Multimedia Department at the school's newspaper.

After college I traveled to the northwest United States to grow a beard and learn. While interning at Periscope Studios, (Portland, based artists' collective) I was able to work with comic book artists, illustrators, and writers. It was a very rewarding time in my life. That experience working both collaboratively and independently gave me a basis for professional structure. Then, in Seattle, working on concept art and storyboards (for an independent film company) granted me an opportunity to further develop strong methods for storytelling.

Over the past years in Shanghai I have studied story-craft with professional writers to create storyboards for over 70+ short stories. I've managed other artists for TV animation (MIU Entertainment), and brand motivated motion comics at TMRC Impact (Consumer Insights Marketing Company). All of these experiences made me the artist I am today and I am very grateful. Feel free to email me for any opportunities or questions you may have. Thanks for looking at my website.

Work Experience

MIU Entertainment / Senior Storyboard Artist

As a senior staff member I visualize scripts using Photoshop to consistently submit work that follows character model sheets and naming conventions while maintaining deadlines. I pitch storyboards to the director and creative department heads, then prepare them for animatics. I invent new ideas to support the script then take all directors' notes to aline with the style of show. I must also manage other artists, and work closely with the layout team and 2-d animators.
